Small World

Larissa was my Russian teacher in High School. She took me to my first rock concert - Simple Minds at Copley Symphony Hall in Downtown San Diego, summer of 1991. Fast forward 12 years to last summer when at Jackie and Ken's wedding I find out that Larissa is Leila's mom. I've known Leila for a couple of years now, having no idea that Larissa is her mom. I was floored. Beyond surprised. In disbelief, really...It's a small small world! And tonight, Marie and I, and Jackie and Ken, and Leila and Mark, are seated around Larissa's kitchen table enjoying some delicious home cooking. Sipping on red wine, reminiscing.
