Sushi Bites, Sapporo Sips

Marie and I are becoming huge fans of sushi. Tonight we enjoy delicious bites of things that we don't know how to pronounce. But we trust the Sushi Ota establishment, which is probably one of the better Sushi Restaurants in town, judging not only by the number of Japanese-speaking customers, but also by Marie's delighted facial expression after every bite. The food is not the main excitement of the evening; I have reunited with an old friend and Marie and I have met his girlfriend. Rounds of Sapporo-filled glass clinkings are synchronized with eye contacts and "cheers", "na zdrave", and "chin chin" exclamations. Sushi is an acquired taste. Marie is proof of that -- I remember how when she was on training wheels trying a bite of California Roll (which ain't even sushi) she really disliked the texture and the taste. Today, she would prefer we have sushi over Italian or Chinese or Mexican food. Speaking of Marie, even though she never comments on this blog, she is a big fan and has the T-Shirt to prove it. Another devoted fan is JJ who doesn't have the t-shirt to prove it, but ever since I posted about his favorite state, Texas, he has become an avid visitor of this site:
